Meet Our Animals

Here at Sunnylea Farm, our focus isn't solely on fresh cut flowers and floral products.  We consider our animals to be a part of the family, and each of them is loved and cared for in a manner that is respectful of their lives.  We are truly grateful for their contributions to our working farm, whether it be eggs and milk for consumption or for their friendship.

Chicago Hanover

We are so fortunate to be given the opportunity to adopt this retired harness racer.  He came to us in October 2016 after tendon injuries ended his racing career at the age of seven.

Calista Jane

The goat that started it all! Because of this spunky girl, our dream of owning a farm was reignited.  She is now retired from our breeding program and fills her days figuring out how to open gates and doors.

Everdene

Everdene is our herd queen and maintains order in the goat herd. Our biggest goat, she won't stand for any nonsense...but will happily accept scratches anytime.

Jane Eyre

Janie was born to Calista and Frodo in April 2017 and is quite the spunky girl. She runs circles around her brother, Jeremiah, and loves to do back flips off the barn wall.

Emmeline

Emmeline was born in March 2018 to Everdene and is the sweetest and gentlest goat. She likes to hang out with Chicago and loves head-to-toe scratches.

Eliza

Eliza and her sister are two rescue kitties that joined our farm in the fall of 2020. She is incredibly shy and quiet, but once you make friends with her, she loves getting attention.

Angelica

Angelica and her sister are two rescue kitties that joined our farm in the fall of 2020.  She loves to give hugs and snuggle in laps.

Gemma Bo

Gemma is our head farm dog and manager of all that takes place here on our farm. She does a great job patrolling the property and is always ready for a game of frisbee.

Max Bear

Max tries to be a good farm dog, but he really shines by managing all the activity within the house.

Our Chickens

These pretty ladies work hard to lay beautiful eggs for us.  They are also great garden helpers!

Our Ducks

The breeds that call Sunnylea Farm home are Khaki Campbells, Anconas, and Indian Runners.  Our ducks provide endless entertainment--and delicious eggs too!
